Framing Question:

What is the relationship and potential impact of the PA Department of Education's academic standards for arts and humanities, and SAS on my curriculum and classroom practice/student learning?

Live blog closed before I could post this one:

"The intensity of the music created the mood. The movements fit the duration of the notes in the composition. The texture of the music demonstrated the emotions that the dancers were trying to convey. Thicker texture mimicked the intensity of emotions between the dancers." - Denise Zundel & Mark Poole

Look in the future for an opportunity to talk about continuity. With the grant funding ending this year, we're thinking about how we can continue the community-building that Arts Educator 2.0 has begun. Mara will send an email soon about an opportunity for participants to be part of a webinar to discuss next steps.

Because we don't meet again as a large group until March, Jamie will be looking at your documentation between now and then. She will send you an email with a response to your documentation over the next few weeks. This is not evaluative, but instead is just a response to what you've posted and the learning that is visible in your documentation.

Repeating the final announcement from the day, remember that we are about 2/3 of the way through the project year. You are required to complete and document 90 hours of work. To stay on track, you should have roughly 60 hours of work completed and documented by the end of January (this includes the 28 hours spent at the IU during the first four days). Don't worry about sharing complete or novel ideas; sharing your in-process thoughts is more important when documenting your work.

The Arts Education Collaborative's Leadership Academy will be held July 25-29, 2011 at the August Wilson Center for African American Culture. Information and the application can be found here.

Cello Fury will perform on Friday, March 18 at Red Ring Restaurant, 1015 Forbes Avenue (on the campus of Duquesne University). The show starts at 8 PM; there is no cover.
